OOO Baikit Oil & Gas Exploratory Expedition

OOO Baikit Oil & Gas Exploratory Expedition (OOO BNGRE) performs the exploration and prospecting of hydrocarbon resources in the Krasnoyarsk region, which is one of the most dynamically developing centers of the oil and gas industry in Russia. Exploration and appraisal drilling, production drilling, well workover, testing and development are main types of the Expedition activity.

The Expedition was established from the exploration crew of OAO Slavneft-Megionneftegasgeologia in 1998. The Expedition managed to ensure the high rates of hydrocarbon reserves increment in SLAVNEFT’s fields of East and West Siberia due to the rich and vast professional experience of Megion drilling men and geologists. Over the years of their work, Enterprise’s crews drilled more than 259 prospecting wells, exploration and production wells; the total drilling progress made 952.9 thousand meters. To its name, the Expedition has tens of discovered oil deposits in the Yurubcheno-Tokhomskaya oil and gas accumulation zone, in the Vankor block and in the group of Messoyakha fields.

In 2003, Baikit Oil & Gas Exploratory Expedition became the subsidiary of OOO Slavneft-Krasnoyarskneftegaz. Main operational facilities of the Expedition are concentrated at the Kuyumbinskoye field and Yurubcheno-Tokhomskoye field in the Krasnoyarsk region. OOO BNGRE fulfills drilling jobs not only in the SLAVNEFT Group license areas, but also in the license areas of other subsoil users. In particular, the Enterprise explores oil and gas deposits in the Tagulskoye and Lodochnoye license areas.

Currently, OOO BNGRE is implementing the innovative development program, which assumes stage-wide upgrading of operational facilities, introduction of the high-technology equipment and advanced well construction methods. The Enterprise successfully masters new types of services and extends the operational geography by proposing the best decisions for effective field development.

In 2022, BNGRE gained the highest indicators of drilling progress and quantities in its history. Expedition crews drilled more than 222 thousand meters of the rock formation and increased the drilling progress by 12% against the indicator of the previous year. 52 new wells were placed on production. The overall drilling rate exceeded the business plan indicator by 14% and made 2,633 m/ machine-month.

The increasing technological potential facilitates development of BNGRE new activity types. Well flow rate logging by applying the multi-phase flow metering method is one of the top-requested services rendered by the Expedition. The Enterprise fleet includes 7 metering packages mounted on the KamAZ chassis. In 2022, 4,600 measurements of the flow rate were made by using the portable metering packages that is 15% higher than the indicator of the previous year.

BNGRE also renders a full range of well overhaul and maintenance services. The Expedition has five well overhaul/ maintenance teams. The teams use the new machinery equipped with the automated monitoring and control systems, which ensure efficient fulfillment of various technological jobs on wells. In 2022, BNGRE teams performed 172 well overhaul operations that is similar to the number of operations in 2021.

When fulfilling the jobs in conditions of the Far North, the Enterprise strongly focuses on ensuring the occupational safety, decreasing the accident/ injury rate, mitigating the industrial and environmental risks that is reflected in the BNGRE Policy for Occupational, Industrial, Fire and Environmental Safety, Emergency Prevention. Certification audit of the Enterprise’s system for quality, occupational, industrial and environmental safety management was successfully completed. During this audit, the system conformance to international standards ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and OHSAS 18001:2007 was checked.

Baikit Oil & Gas Exploratory Expedition successfully fulfills the tasks on strengthening the SLAVNEFT resource base in the Krasnoyarsk region due to upgrading of the drilling rig fleet, implementation of the advanced technologies and development of the industrial infrastructure.
